Bok- & Biblioteksmässan

Sveriges första och mest långlivade seriemässa, den årliga Comics, föddes på initiativ av Svenska Serieakademin och framför allt dess president Sture Hegerfors. Mässan såg dagens ljus i Helsingborg 1985, då snarare i form av en kongress än en publikmässa. 1986 flyttade den till Göteborg och har alltsedan dess varit ett fristående inslag på den större Bok- och Bibliotek-mässan.

Sedan 1988 har även Seriefrämjandet medverkat på ett hörn och delat på Svenska Serieakademins monterutrymme. Under flera år har Seriefrämjandet även haft en egen monter, inriktad på fanzin och småförlag, kallad Serieloungen.

Idag hamnar de flesta serierelaterade evenemang på bokmässans sista dag och går då under begreppet Seriesöndagen.

På mässan brukar Adamsonstatyetten delas ut till serieskapare.
