Direktmarknad
Den amerikanska direktmarknaden (eng. direct sales market eller direct market) är idag den dominerande distributionskanalen för serietidningar och seriealbum i USA och Kanada. Den består av ett nätverk av distributörer samt en mängd specialiserade seriebutiker. Till skillnad från speceriaffärer, kiosker och bokhandlar som säljer serier, har direktmarknadens försäljare inte möjlighet att återsända osålda varor i retur.

Den svenska direktmarknaden
Någon svensk direktmarknad när det gäller serier finns inte att tala om. Däremot finns det ett flertal seriebutiker i Sverige som köper in serier från USA på samma sätt som de amerikanska direktmarknadsaktörerna. Dock måste de svenska butikerna betala flygfrakt för serierna, vilket gör att seriebutikernas dollarpris gentemot kund oftast är mycket högre än rådande växelkurs.
